Fort William Final Results
It was an absolutely wild ride on race day at Fort William as the course took absolutely no prisoners, throwing mechanicals and OTBs out left and right.
First place qualifier Luca Shaw would suffer a flat tire during his run, ending his hopes of a win while Aaron Gwin would take a nasty OTB tumble after smashing into a bomb hole that seemed to catch a number of riders as well.
In the end, it would be flying Frenchman Amaury Pierron that took the top step on the podium with an absolute burner of a run. 2nd place went to Loris Vergier, who finished just 0.270 seconds behind. 3rd place was Troy Brosnan, who was 0.311 off the pace.
The drama extended to the Elite Women's field as well; Rachel Atherton would suffer a snapped chain right from the top, and still managed a 3rd place finish thanks to some supreme bike control. Tahnee Seagrave would take the win, finishing over 8 seconds up on 2nd place Myriam Nicole.
