Enduro World Series Rotorua - Results
It was a greasy one for the Giant Toa Enduro at Crankworx Rotorua this year. While Mother Nature threw curveballs at the riders, it was the GT Factory team of Wyn and Eddie Masters that would finish 1 and 3 with Matt Walker of Cube Global Squad sandwiched in the middle. Last year's champ Richie Rude finished back in the pack in 20th, while Sam Hill finished a quite respectable 4th.
On the women's side, it was Cecile Ravanel that walked away with the win, a solid 3:15 up on 2nd place Ines Thoma and 3:48 ahead of Anita Gehrig in 3rd. Canadian pinner Miranda Miller finished the day in 12th place, 6:32 off the pace.

Given the results, it sounds like the 2016's top 20 riders got the prickly short end of the stick in terms of the downpour and track conditions. Don't get me wrong, I am stoked for the Masters' bros. on their podium, but I've got huge respect as well for Rude, Clementz & Maes, among others EWS 2016 top 20's, starting late in the morning and dealing with the ruts and slop. Props to their impressive fitness and skill. Hill coming in 4th, absolute monster. You wouldn't know if live in a semi-arid Loved Ratboy's attitude; you can't change the weather, so you might as well have a laugh.

Botched that last sentence. Was referring to Hill coming from Perth, WA and excelling on endless slick terrian and then Ratboy's endless grins given the conditions.
