Dave Mirra – Ride In Peace
In case you missed the sad news, BMX star Dave Mirra was found dead in his truck on Thursday, February 4th. Apparently Mirra left the home of some friends, planning to go elsewhere with them, but instead they found him in his truck. Police say the cause of death was a self-inflicted gunshot to the head. In the aftermath, friends and others suggest that Mirra was having a hard time finding meaning in life as he transitioned away from his professional career. Suggestions that he felt lost and depressed point toward an answer but we’ll likely never know what caused this inspirational man to end his life.

This really breaks my heart. I wonder if a few years from now, we'll find widespread CTE among extreme sports and gravity athletes. Just makes me wonder. We really need to look out for our brothers and sisters.
