Candide Skis The World!
Suspend your disbelief for a moment and be amazed. In fact many of the shots we thought may have been CGI the first time around were legit - so maybe no suspension is necessary.

I wouldn't doubt there are some staged elements but the making of film for the last one showed him doing most everything for reals. I Just can't help thinking that the robot planet that Candide and Semenuk are from must be filled with trick-machines flying through the air.

The insane thing is how doable he makes all that look. If you've ever skied or boarded on even thin snow let alone no snow, you've felt how incredibly sketchy it is to have no edge hold. Insane stuff. And have to assume it's almost entirely legit. Wouldn't have any oomph if it was faked.

I agree Dave. Just a few things like flying into tiny doors and those sorts of things. I bet he even poled into that wave! ;)

I feel this way about winter and not being able to ride my bike at the moment.

The sound of his skis over the surfaces certainly sounded real - although I can't claim to know what skis should sound like on sand-covered rock dunes. Still, very impressively done all around.

I remain skeptical about him backflipping into the back of the Audi. Let's see some more angles etc. Even the angle seems impossible - coming down at that trajectory, missing the gate, but still managing to have his skis above the bumper.

Its an ad - I wasn't put off by a bit of movie magic and since it was the thing people largely complained about I bet that was one of the motivating factors not to have a car in this version.

Of course, but what's a few pairs of skis to his sponsor? Massive exposure for their athlete.
