Unless you’ve had your head firmly wedged under a rock for the past umpteen years, you’ve probably heard of Cedric Gracia. The DH racer turned Enduro ripper is known for his incredibly aggressive riding style, and the big crashes that come with it. So what kind of bike can keep up with a guy like that? We had a gander at his Enduro World Series Santa Cruz Nomad to see what it takes.
Up front a DVO Diamond fork keeps things pointed in the right direction while sucking up rowdy descent stages.
15mm thru axle for the ideal combo of strength to weight.
The Diamond also features an easy-move low speed compression dial, for riders who are supremely gassed at the end of a race.
A narrow-wide chain ring and MRP top guide ensure the chain stays right where it’s supposed to be.
When you ride like Cedric, you can never have enough clutch, or frame protection.
No special bits or one-offs here. Just Santa Cruz’s gorgeous VPP carbon frame.
When you’re racing, every second counts. Even if you wind up with a flat.
Cedric’s own racing brigade has slowly been adding other members since its inception in 2012.
The DVO Jade shock handles rear suspension duties.
The EWS organizers want you to be on time for your starts.
There you have it, the bike that somehow manages to keep up with Cedric’s madness.
Apart from the fork, one could conceivably go out and build this bike tomorrow. We think that’s kinda cool…

Is Mavic his tyre sponsor? I see he's running a Magic Mary front and Specialized Slaughter rear.

His site has Panaracer listed as his tire sponsor. They even have a line of tires named after him.

He asked if Mavic was Gracia's tire sponsor and I mentioned who his officially listed tire sponsor was … never said Nic was wrong or anything of the sort.
