2012 BC Cup Finals

I shot my first race of the season last weekend, back at Hemlock Valley Resort for the closing of the 2012 BC Cup DH season. Last year was stinking hot and brutal with bugs. This year we were treated to cooler temperatures, a nice breeze and….no bugs!

This was the second year for the revival of the Hemlock DH and it’s proving to be a favourite among those who attend. Take note racers, if you decided to give Hemlock a pass this year, you really missed out. The organization was superb, the scenery awesome and Karla and crew kept the events going all weekend long. I was truly impressed.

The race even included some final nail biting drama. With a massive crash only 4 riders from the end and the final 3 riders already on course, they were called back to do a re-run. With Tyler Gorz sitting in the hot seat watching the last 3 riders come down, it took until the last one, Adrian Digiacinto to unseat him.

It was big smiles all weekend long from all that I saw, a big hats off to all the made this event come together.
