NSMBA 2011 Election

You can’t predict the future, but you can help shape it on November 17th

Please join your fellow riders for the NSMBA’s 2011 Annual General Meeting on November 17 at Jaycee House. We will be reporting on the year’s activities, discussing 2012 goals, and electing a Board of Directors.
 
Are you interested in getting more involved and helping to shape the Shore? We would encourage all members to consider running for the Board of Directors. It’s a fulfilling and challenging opportunity to contribute to the riding community and make a difference!

IMBA Canada Trail Care Crew Coming Arrives on the Shore November 19th

The International Mountain Bicycling Association (Canada) is coming to the Shore! Chad and Deanne Lazaruk of the IMBA Canada Trail Care Crew will be in North Vancouver for a free IMBA Trail Building School with the North Shore Mountain Bike Association.Come out to meet the Crew, and network with other trail users in your area! You’ll learn the art and science of sustainable trail building, and get hands-on instruction in the field! Get more info on the IMBA Canada Trail Care Crew here.

Applications for District of North Vancouver Advisory Committees are Open Until November 4th

The District of North Vancouver is looking for residents to participate in a number of advisory committees. More information is located here and here.
 
There is enormous value for our organization and membership to keep current with the issues discussed at the following three committees:

– Community Services Advisory Committee
– Parks and Natural Environment Committee
– North Vancouver Recreation Commission

If you are interested in participating in any of these committes, please contact the DNV to request an application form.


Municipal Elections

It’s municipal election season here on the Shore and your Board is planning on putting some questions to the candidates on issues of interest to mountain bikers. We’ll report back to the membership on the answers we get regarding issues such as Fromme parking, funding of the DNV trail crew and trail maintenance, the High School Mountain Bike League, a possible climbing trail, and more. We would also encourage you to talk to candidates when you see them (some candidates meeetings are listed here) and make sure they understand the issues that are important to you!
