A Corner Office, With a View

I’ve worked myself into an ideal working position being on the NSMB team. They’ve given me the opportunity to show people my passions, and have allowed me to put out a product from all the effort than gets put in. This week I was thinking about the trails that stay with you long after you’ve made it home, and was racking my brain for a trail that had equally amazing riding features to breathtaking surroundings. For me, in the Sea to Sky there’s no better example than the trail Creampuff in Pemberton.

Creampuff is an old classic, and is a technical trail that serves up generous offerings of rock slabs and fast and flowy singletrack. It’s one of those trails that can be ridden at a flat-out pace with, or rolled in a mellow manner. For all the more daunting rock lines, there are well thought out ride arounds that can be equally as fun. As most Sea to Sky riders can agree, Pemberton is a better Spring/Fall adventure than mid-summer. However with the amount of rain we’ve been having this year, and the lower than usual temperature, Pemberton has remained in perfect condition!

This week I got out to Pemberton with photographer, Reuben Krabbe (http://www.reubenkrabbe.com/). I’ve known Reuben for a few years now, and I’ve watched his photography talent spread themselves into magazines worldwide. Reuben has a talented eye, and has most recently landed 2 images in the 2011 Bike Magazine photo annual. Originally from Calgary, he’s now working out of Whistler and has been producing some incredible shots this season!

I’m trying to capture and remember my last summer moments in the Sea to Sky as I’m headed off to Switzerland for August, guiding with Big Mountain Bike Adventures (http://www.ridebig.com/). There’s no better trail in the corridor to solidify the drastic beauty of this area than Creampuff. Every rock you stare at so intently at becomes just a little less interesting as the overbearing Mount Currie is always in your peripheral.

Our AIRprentice has been in the Alps for some time now and the content has been flowing in. So, keep an eye out. Share your thoughts on the boards…
