New BB Standard
George Rosingana and Landon Monholland of RideGoBig Industries, have just patented a new crank spindle standard. We expect this new technology to take over the industry in the near future. Its called the “1-1/8th crank spindle standard.” TM Basically, the system would use available headsets in place of bottom brackets. Our plan is to launch this standard in 2011, make a fortune on it, but then in 2013, in an effort to stiffen and lighten the system, we will come out with the “B2 tapered crank spindle standard.” TM
Obviously we would use a 1.5 bearing on the drive side, tapering to the commonly found 1-1/8th bearing standard for the non-drive side, allowing consumers to continue to use their left crank arms.
Attached are pictures of the proposed systems. One picture is the 1-1/8th crank spindle standard, and the other is the tapered 1.5 to 1-1/8th B2 standard.
Geo and I are very proud of this new technology, if you are a manufacturer wishing to place an order for your OEM application, please go to our website www.thereisnostandardinthebikeindustry.com

What do you think of this little bit of humour? Is there parody well aimed and justifiable? Is the bike industry to blame or are we (both media and consumers) to blame because of our unquenchable thirst for new and ‘better’? Flame on here…
