What’s Next? Interbike Edition

So, I think my body is finally detoxed enough after 5 days down in Vegas. I headed down with Ken Perras (Kperras) from Marty’s Mountain Cycle. Travis Bilton from Lavan Apparel. and my Girlfriend. This was my first time hitting Interbike and we were all pretty excited to see what Vegas had to offer. I was also pretty stoked since “What’s Next?” would be premiering on the Thursday night at a super cool mansion! We lucked out both ways and caught direct flights to and from Vegas out of Victoria, we arrived late Tuesday afternoon and the fun started!

It was a TOUGH choice figuring out what hotel we wanted to stay at. We wanted something on the strip, close to fun stuff, yet in-expensive. This was our winner! THE EXCALIBUR

Being in America, you get to taste some crazy crazy things… This was one of them. Fatburger! You ordered the burger by size. S,M,L,XL,XXL. We attempted the Medium, which was bigger then any burger you would get at McDonalds or Wendy’s. Lets just say we had some real time food coma’s after that!

INTERBIKE!

Now Wednesday after we delivered our much needed food babies we headed down to the sands conference center to see the goods of the bike show. If anyone tells you that everything is huge in vegas believe them… We entered the hotel that was connected to the conference center and it took us 45 minutes to get to the other side where the actual bike show was! After getting our passes we headed in and couldn’t believe our eyes. There was bike stuff everywhere! I couldn’t believe the amount of cool things we got too see. Some highlights for me…

Seeing the bike that won it all! Sam Hill’s Demo 8

Some Syncros pedals I can’t wait to get my feet on! The new CRUX pedal. It’s got a thinner profile, and has slimmed down and saved some weight! Syncros has some cool new things on the go. Can’t wait to slap them on my bikes.

That night we witnessed the world premiere of New World Disorder 10. No pictures but it seemed to be a really fast paced movie with a bunch of younger riders which is great to see. I’d have to say I remember the claw’s the most.. Probably one of the sickest sections you’ll ever get to see, I’m glad he got the banger section he wanted. Thursday was followed by more interbike and goodies from 2010! Just to give you an example of how much bike stuff there was, after 2 days.. approx 16 hours of walking around the showroom we still had not seen everything the show had to offer, nor had I set my eyes on Cam or the other boys from NSMB.com! What Gives?!

What’s Next?

That is exactly the title of Thursday night. After the show we all headed out for an awesome dinner.

That’s Right… 24$ got us a 24 hour buffet at our hotel, Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner, and the occasional corn dog! We headed to the mirage and caught our VIP limo which took us to a mansion Raceface and Rocky Mountain had rented. The house was filled with free food, drinks, amazing furniture and a ton of industry gurus! For one 22 year old guy, Aaron Larouqe definitely outdid himself with this film. Within that live broadcast online the movie counted over 42 000 views. Now that the movie is free online for download the number is steadily increasing!

All in all our Vegas experience was pretty good! Once interbike was finished we decided to do some touristy things including the New York New York hotel rollercoaster, and seeing Criss Angel/Cirque Du Soleil. I’m glad to be home and back on the bikes!
