New cross-country mountain bikers tired of just-go-for-it advice and downhillers itching to give their skills a jump are invited to sign up for North America’s premier traveling mountain bike program, the Dirt Series by Rocky Mountain Bicycles (www.dirtseries.com). 

The local North Shore trails are certainly infamous, but also incredible for learning new technical skills. It’s got everything, from high profile stunts to challenging natural features, and trails suited to all riders, beginner through advanced. And, in a very rare situation for our normally sold-out Vancouver camps, we’ve still got just a few open spots for this weekend’s upcoming women’s only camp on May 23rd-24th. If the recent balmy weather has you itching to get back on the bike and polish up your skills, this weekend is the perfect opportunity.

Different Bikes (www.differentbikes.ca) hosts the majority of the camp from their North Vancouver location, but invites everyone to their West Vancouver shop for the Saturday night session. There not only do they provide excellent bike maintenance clinics and offer participants in-store shopping specials, but they order in delicious food and drinks for all to enjoy.

“We really enjoy hosting the Dirt Series,” says Different Bikes owner Andy Hanford. “Participants get great instruction from experienced and enthusiastic coaches, all while riding our incredible North Shore trails. Both days also come packed with great food and hospitality, plus the chance to ride the latest Rocky Mountain bikes. It’s like a girls’ vacation weekend on bikes, and as a bonus you come out of it a better rider!”

The weekend camp includes small-group skill sessions, instructional rides and social time led by motivational coaches who seek to both inform and empower. As national and world champions, as well as health and wellness professionals, coaches bring plenty of tire time and dedication to the camps.
