I've seen their stuff before but that one was the scariest to watch. It was probably the exposure of that overhanging scaffold that got me. I kept waiting for one of them to just take a flying leap and deploy a chute but that's not their MO. Seemed like they were there overnight but there was no sunrise footage.

That scooter video was cool but I have to honest: the second I recognize a song in an edit from another edit a good portion of my interest goes out the window.

You gotta manage your expectations, man. There are far more video edits coming out every day than there is music that can be pilfered and used in them. I know what you're saying, but it's simply going to get worse - especially when you cross-pollinate (scootering and MTB).
On another note, that scooter rider managed to defy that old joke about scooters being fun until your buddies see you riding it.

That just isn't true. There is more amazing well-produced music than ever before. The deeper I go into iTunes or Beatport the more limitless I realize it really is. There is no way we're about to run out of good soundtrack material. There is zero reason for reusing songs. Besides, wouldn't you want to establish a unique vibe for your edit rather than co-opting what the last person did?

But how can you claim something is being co-opted when there is very little chance you've seen the other video? I'm not talking within one industry/sport here. That was a video ad made for scooter tires, a market hardly related to MTB. So it's a coincidence that they used the same song, not a case of reusing a song.
Maybe you're right about a deep pool of music available to be used, however choosing music for a vid is a really tough part of the job and some music is more suitable and therefore more likely to be seen in more than one place. Could I have written 'more' more in that last sentence? (time to knock off and go riding, I'm over this screen right now)

That's fair. But there have been a few times where the same song was reused within a sport.
