Trek Farley EX
Trek Farley EX
Adding to their Farley line of hardtail fat bikes, Trek just rolled out the Farley EX, which is a fat bike duallie with 120mm of extra cushion. This thing might actually be a lot of fun to ride, even though it will instantly turn you into a jerk. We’ll have to let you know after the snow that’s currently melting comes back sometime in early Winter, but look at all that fully sprung rubbery beef. Just look at it.
Farley EX comes with 27.5 x 3.8″ tires, ABP suspension, Full Floater braking, and RE:aktiv shock technology, and internal dropper post and derailleur cable housing. I’m not chasing down all that propaganda for you – this is a fat bike, you can do a bit of the work yourself. But, we will be testing one and we’ll fill in all the gaps during our first look.
Trek was also showing their new dropper post – the Drop Line. It’s got cartridge style internals, infinite adjustability, and will come in 100, 125, and 150mm options. It’s not quite out there in the market yet but that’s coming soon – as is our tester. We’ll have more to say soon, but more options and competition in this arena is only a good thing for all of us.
Available in June. Pricing set at $299 US.
100mm: 565g | 125mm: 599g | 150m: 624g
If you think Farley EX or one of the hardtails might be your n+1 bike, Trek is taking pre-orders now for Fall delivery and I’m sure your local dealer will be happy to take your deposit. The duallie will not be sold as a frame only.
