Week One Winner
Ian Hylands' choices...

Kokanee Crankworx @ Whistler

March Prizing brought to you by Helly Hansen

Once again we're blessed with a gaggle of the best lensmen in the business judging Money Shot.  This week Ian Hylands turned his gaze to the 202 photos that were entered during the first week.   I know the judges take Money Shot very seriously and put a lot of effort into choosing the shots they feel have the most merit.  We don't steer them in any direction in terms of technical or artistic considerations; they are big boys and can judge a good photo without any input from us.  Thanks to Ian and all the judges for making time in their hectic travel schedules to sift through all the entries.

Every winner in March will receive a prize from Helly Hansen - and then the grand prize winner gets a prize from the next level - as well as a ticket to the finals.

Our first weekly prize from Helly Hansen - the Jaeger mountain bike shoe is flat pedal specific and it has lots of grip.

The Helly Hansen Jaeger shoes go to...

Chris Brebner shot by Angus Meek in South Australia.
I really like this shot. I think the backlit dust trail and grass make it. The action is good but basic, the trail is cool and rocky, the lighting carries it.

First place for week One. Rider ~ Chris Brebner.  Photo ~ Angus Meek.    Click image to see original file.

Scott Allyn shot by David Bennison
I love the stormy background in this shot. Also a good size fuf as well, nice timing, nice angle, like the composition.

Second place. Rider ~ Scott Allyn.  Photo ~ David Bennison  Click image to view original.

Fabdh shot by Jens Muller in Germany
I like the greenery and the rocky trail. I like that it's not overly lit, just the rider. Might have been even nicer at 1/3 less light, but I still like it the way it is.

Third place. Rider ~ Fabdh.  Photo ~ Jens Müller.    Click image see larger version.

Daniel Bergerson shot by Henrik Kjellman in Sweden
Nothing really special about this shot but I like the angle and the color.

Fourth place.  Rider ~ Daniel Bergerson.  Photo ~ Henrik Kjellman    Click image to see larger version.

Mike Metzger shot by Aaron Warder in Washington
cool angle, i liked this shot but would have liked to have seen more of the ground. you lose a lot of the perspective because it's so tight.

Amos Franke shot by Jeremy Cesa
I don't really like much about this photo as far as the light or composition, but the
360 is dope!

Honourable Mention.  Rider ~ Amos Franke.  Photo ~ Jeremy Cesa    Click image to see larger version.

Week two is underway.  Click here to see the entries.   This week's winner will receive a Jaeger jersey and a Black Stripe jersey from Helly Hansen.

I suspect you might have something to say about this.  Share your wisdom here.
