Sea Otter Scores Another SRAM Success

SRAM MTB atheletes podium throughout the entire weekend

SRAM continues to celebrate its involvement with the annual celebration that is the Sea Otter Classic. This year marks the 15th year that SRAM's sponsored the Sea Otter Classic.

One of the most exciting mountain bike events was the Invitational Dirt Jump presented by SRAM, also known as the Furry Fury. With a completely new layout and
location, athletes found themselves starting off a massive 30' platform that hurled them towards three sets of jumps.

One seriously steep run-in

When the dust cleared, it was SRAM athletes Kyle Strait scoring second and Jamie Goldman (Santa Cruz Syndicate) landing in third.

A new event at this year‘s Sea Otter was the Thule Adventure Race. The event consisted of a two mile ocean paddle, a three hour mountain bike ride, followed by a three mile trail run. It was SRAM sponsored Team Nike, consisting of Mike Kloser, Michael Tobin, Moniquie Merrill, and Ian Adamson, that took the win.

The wet and rainy SRAM Short Track was won by SRAM rider Jean Christoph Peraud (Orbea) on the men‘s side, while Willow Koerber (Subaru / Gary Fisher) placed 4th among the women.

SRAM atheletes on top of the podium

The ever popular SRAM Dual Slalom was also won by SRAM athlete, Mick Hannah (Cannondale). Sabrina Jonnier (Monster Energy / Iron Horse) brought home the gold on the women's side.
Nathan Rennie (Santa Cruz Syndicate) kicked off his season right by winning the SRAM Downhill event with teammate Steve Peat (Santa Cruz Syndicate) finishing close behind in third.
Strong winds worked over the pro racers in the SRAM Cross Country, which was determined by a finish line sprint. Jean Christophe Peraud (Orbea) secured a third position on the podium,
followed by Todd Wells (GT) in fourth.

As always, it was a terrific kick off to the race season. SRAM congratulates each and every one of its athletes that brought home a medal!
