NSRide,
Different Bikes and Norco
A new club with some experience
|
There is a new club in town with an old set of leaders – NSRide, a non
profit social riding club, has arisen under some experienced ride leaders. Designed
to be non-intimidating and fun, our club has rides for everyone - from those
who have never sat on a mountain bike to those aspiring to race, from epic XC
loops to fast and furious DH runs, from local North Shore rides to road trips
with friends.
For myself, belonging to a ride club has meant friends – plain and simple.
People who share the same passion for two wheels as myself – whether they
have just started riding or have been riding for years. And of course the riding
itself – everything from epic night rides in the snow to trying to keep
up with the burly DH guys down Cypress.
Regular season rides include Tuesday night ladies rides, Thursday co-ed rides,
and our Saturday road trips to places like the Sunshine Coast, Squamish, Whistler
and beyond. Every ride we offer has groups ranging from beginner to XC to full
on DH. We have a group for you.
And not for the weak – night rides are running every Tuesday and Thursday
throughout the winter. Check out www.nsride.com for a complete schedule.
One area we are very interested in developing is the “Drop-in membership”
for those of you coming from out of town who want a group to ride with, a hassle
free shuttle, be shown the trails, or just want to meet people who ride. Stay
tuned for details.

Another focus for our club is the social side – rides end with a trip
to Seymour’s Pub for the necessary beer and burger – or their
famous butter chicken (thanks to Seymour’s for the 25% discounts to
all club members). Did I mention that there are more female riders in our
club then males?
In case you are still wondering if you should join, sign up for your 2007
membership by Jan 15, 2007 and you could win your membership for free and
every earlybird member will receive a one-time 25% off shopping spree (regular
priced merchandise, no bikes, no forks) at Different Bikes! If you purchase
$200 or more of needed gear, your membership fee is immediately earned back!
Every member also gets 30% of labour at either Different Bikes location for
the entire year, 15% off merchandise for the rest of the year and 1% of your
total purchases will be donated to charity by Different Bikes – and
that really is different.
Other partners include NSMBA who we will be partnering up with for trail
days, Endless Biking who have offered to come by and give some riding tips,
Seymour’s Pub who provide 25% off your food bill and of course Norco
who provide demo bikes on industry nights and tons of free schwag.
