That was one epic adventure - and a trip like this is on my ToDoList, maybe this year…damn, that was awesome. I want to ride my bike in incredible places.
Last year I did a one day bike trip on my commuter which took me through some interesting little villages and areas, 120 km was that one, all on road and bike lanes.
The year before I rode from Dusseldorf, Germany, to Duisburg along the Rhine and from there along the Ruhr river to a sleepy little town called Hattingen where my wife picked me up. Actually we had our first official meeting with our little one back then. We had an appointment at her doctor's, to check out the first few images. I barely made it because I thought it would be easier. It was nearly 130 km in less than 7 hours. But I made it.
One trip I want to make this summer is from Cologne to Aix-la-Chapelle, again with my commuter.
And a ride around a town near me, on an old hiking path, 65 km through the forests. Last year I managed half of it before I ran out of water and food, and energy to finish it. Now I am hopefully fitter.
