How To Manual
We know that if you can’t already do it you’d like to be able to. But even if you can’t ahem, keep it up, the manual is a useful skill on the trail as demonstrated by this video from our friends at MBR Magazine.
Can you do it? Want to do it better?

For manuals and catwalks I always tell people to practice on a soft grassy field with a back brace or a back pack with a pillow and no hard things and don't be afraid to loop backwards. That way people can get to know the tipping point of their bike in a relatively safe way. Using flats is a good way to eject safer.

I guess the more accurate title of "Beginners guide for how to lean back and hold a manual just long enough not to go over the bars on a drop" was too long.
For a proper sustained manual I've found visualizing sitting on the back hub helpful.
