Day 1 Results from Samoens EWS 2015

The Alien shows no signs of human frailty. Nico Vouilloz put over 6 seconds into the field on day 1, still ageless at 39 years old. Young American rider Richie Rude was nipping at Nico’s heels.

Portugese rider Borges had two top ten results going into stage 3 when he was disqualified, apparently for riding the course during the week before the race, forbidden in the French rule book (EWS allows each country’s rules to prevail- there is no common rule book). It seems unusual that the infraction would have come to light after the first two stages, rather than before the even. There will likely be an explanation eventually.

Nico won round 2 while  Jérôme Clementz  and Fabien Barel won 1st and 3rd respectively, making it a clean sweep for the French.

Tracy Moseley put 1:32 into the field with Cecile Ravanel and Aneke Beerten in second and third.

Tomorrow should be hotly contested.
