2005 Devinci Daredevil Downhill Team

Chicoutimi, QC– Devinci Cycles is proud to announce the signing of 2004 Canadian National Champion Mathieu Laurin and 2004 Quebec Cup overall Champion Philippe Ménard to the Devinci Daredevil Downhill Team.

Returning are 2004 Canada Cup overall Champion Geoff Pendrel, 2004 Quebec Champion Dominick Ménard and Chad Onyschuk who is making a return on the downhill racing scene! Chad spent the last years working closely with the Devinci R&D department. Chad is a strong competitor; he has won the National Championships in 2000. Needless to say that Devinci has put together one of the most impressive team on the Canada circuit this year! All team members will race the new Wilson which is perfectly designed to tackle the downhill circuit.

Mathieu Laurin
Mathieu's reputation precedes him; at the end of the 2004 season, he was standing in 26th place of the UCI ranking, making him the top North American! He also captured the National title, as well as being a member of the 2004 Canadian National Team. "This is a great opportunity for me; Devinci has great bikes and is a top quality company that has a great future. I'm very excited to join the team! Geoff, Phil and Dom are very good friends of mine and I'm looking forward to
an exciting year!"

Philippe Ménard
Philippe will be team-mate of his brother Dominick for the first time since their beginnings in 1997. Philippe had a remarkable 2004 season; he won 4 Quebec Cup events and easily grabbed the Quebec Cup Overall Title. "This is a huge honour for me, I am very happy to join a Canadian bike company such as Devinci. Of course racing along with my brother Dominick is going to be great! 2005 will be an important season for me, I will take part in the entire Canada Cup series
for the first time, I can't wait!"

Daredevil radical cycling will be the main sponsor of the Devinci downhill team. The team will be testing and promoting Daredevil components. These new products will be unveiled in September. Look forward to see some cool products at the Devinci booth this season!

Team co-sponsors SRAM, Rock Shox, AVID, Michelin, E13, Mavic and Selle Italia will be supporting Devinci Daredevil in 2005.
