Clementz Leaves Mavic

All too often when riders and companies part ways, all we hear is the sound of crickets. Sometimes one or both parties feel slighted or upset, but often everyone is so focused on getting ready for next season that sponsors and sponsorees forget to acknowledge their shared successes. For Jérôme Clementz and Mavic, a 6 year long relationship led to a lot of victories and podiums as well as the EWS Title in its inaugural year in 2013.

NSMB spent an afternoon with Jey after the Whistler round of the EWS in 2013 and found him to be friendly, classy, and funny. And really freakin’ fast. You can read and watch more from that day here.

Often companies want a rider to run all of their products. Jey hinted that wouldn’t work out well next year in some categories. What is the big equipment change? Carbon wheels? Tires? Apparel?
