VIVE LE STEVE

If you happened to watch any coverage of Devinci Global Racing team manager Gabe Fox immediately after his racers put three Devincis on the podium at Hafjell, Norway’s World Cup race this past weekend, you may have noticed his exuberance. Gabe was rightly stoked with DGR’s performance, including Steve Smith’s first win of his career.

We caught up with an understandably sleep-deprived Gabe at day one of Interbike’s Dirt Demo. Carbon Dixons were flying out the door and down the hill at Bootleg Canyon and Gabe was, as usual, juggling four tasks at once. Gabe Fox has been in mountain biking since the beginnings of the North Shore, and we wanted to get his perspective on Stevie’s win…

With three Devinci riders on the podium in Hafjell – a first for Devinci and for Gabe as a manager – the fantastic Mr. Fox is never allowed to attend a World Cup race without the lucky dirt squirrel.
