Scott11: New Team, New Set Up, New Partners

As the 2012 mountain bike world cup starts this week end, it’s about time to announce the new Scott11.

Even though we’ve been working flat out through the whole winter, we must admit that we’re not quite ready yet. But we do know that in sports, it’s not about finding excuses, it’s about dealing with what you have and make the best out of it. This is why we’re just going to do what we always do: We pin it!

The new Scott11, that means Brendan Fairclough, Romain Paulhan, Floriane Pugin, Emilie Siegenthaler, Noel Niederberger and the fourcross brothers Adrian and Mirco Weiss, has met just a week ago for the first training camp in San Remo, Italy. A few days had to be enough to get used to each other and to the new material, before they flew to South Africa for the first world cup.

Scott11 did not only get three new riders, but also three new partners: Besides the much appreciated continuous support of Scott, Châtel, Schwalbe, DT Swiss, Shimano, FOX Racing Shox, Aweka AG, G-SHOCK and E-Thirteen, we’re happy to announce our co-operation withFunn components and MTB-Freeride.tv

Also, Scott11 keeps on flying with Red Bull wings and testing the latest tracks by Velosolutions.

After the quite intense days in San Remo, the athletes relaxed for a day at the beach in Durban and walked the track today. Brendan describes the track: “Walked the track today and it was much the same as last year just with a new top section. The top of the track looks fun to ride and will be very challenging if it decides to rain so lets hope for rain!!

The last 70% of the track is on the flat with a few jumps that look to long to jump but we will see. Its going to be very important to pedal hard and for a long time. Im very exited to be racing again even though this is not a good track its good to be with the team and racing a new bike.”

While Scott11 flew to South Africa for the first mountain bike downhill world cup, it’s team manager Claudio Caluori flew to Quebec in Canada for the last race of the 2012 Red Bull Crashed Ice World Championships.
