Gwin Takes Another

Aaron Gwin has upped his winning percentage to 80 after taking the win by a mere 2.33 seconds – a narrow victory considering his recent results. If you go another 2.33 seconds back you reach Sam Blenkinsop who was in 7th place. Aaron Gwin is seeming unbeatable and a few riders seem to be bending slightly under the pressure.

To paraphrase Rob Warner – Sheffield Steel hasn’t yet begun to rust.

Steve Peat had a dramatic return to form with a solid second place victory at 37 years of age. As you can imagine Rob Warner just about blew an enthusiasm gasket and he said ‘Sheffield Steel’ about 6 times. Kidding aside the coverage by Warner and Nigel Page was solid as usual.

Troy Brosnan has upped his game at just the right time.

Canada’s Steve Smith continued his best  season ever with a 4th place finish. Gee Atherton and Greg Minnaar re-visited last year’s theme by finishing next to one another in the standings only this time Gee was in 11th and Greg finished 12th.
