Scar Approval

I thought that the whole DNV trail sustainability thing was about maintaining existing trails and building some new stuff that would address parking issues. This scar in and around the Bobsled trail area on Fromme Mountain is completely the opposite direction.

I predict a huge parking problem once word gets out on this trail and the masses come to check it out. If it is anything like Half Nelson in Squamish the mountain will be seeing a lot of extra traffic. Is it really a good thing to promote the sport? Why is it good again?

How a machine built trail ripping through piles of forest is a sustainable way to build trails is beyond me. However, I will be the enjoying the trail with my son a lot since we live a 20 minute pedal from the this mess. I’m OK with a little hypocrisy if it means good trails to ride.
