My Rocky Mountain Flatline World Cup
I know what you’re thinking, it’s almost been a solid 2 months since I posted my Pre Build blog, where I explored what my new Rocky Mountain Flatline World Cup frame would look like once I got her all built up. Well in my defence, I have been quite busy riding my face off on this downhill destroying steed. Can you blame me? Now behold, my 2010 Rocky Mountain Flatline World Cup-a pictorial journey.
Rocky Mountain’s Flatline ‘World Cup’ race inspired modifications resulted in a more refined and lighter version of the previous Flatline. The Flatline WC frame is a full two pounds less in weight, and sports a revised LC2R suspension system. Other notable features include: a slack 65-degree head angle, RMB Form 7005 aluminum tubing, 8-plus-inches of rear travel, and a low 13.5 inch bottom bracket.
My Flatline WC in action-North Shore style. Thanks to Jerry Willows for the shot.
Love the graphics on this frame. Not only does it look ultra slick as it lists previous UCI World Cup destinations (including Vancouver), but it was also hand wielded in Quebec, Canada. As they say in the land where the routinely drown there fries in gravy and cheese curd…C’est Bon.
My out preforming, and ultra light (5.9 pounds) RockShox Boxxer World Cup fork always keeps things smooth up front.
I am well cushioned thanks to my Rock Shox Vivid 5.1 rear shox with a 450 pound Ti-spring. Thanks to James and Aruthur at SuspensionWerk for the a custom tune. In a word, dialled.
The package for twenty-ten. Sram’s XO rear trigger shifter, 130mm double clamp locking grips, Aivid Elixir CR’s, Truvativ Boobars, and a Holzfeller direct mount stem.
WTB’s Pure-V saddle featuring titanium rails, and a Truvativ Stylo seat post keeps me up right and comfy.
My Truvativ Holzfeller OCT 1.1 DH cranks, Holzfeller pedals, Sram PG-990 cassette and PC-991 chain, as well as my XO super short cage rear derailleur keep the power flowing flawlessly.
Maxxis Minion DHR 2.5 3C tires. What else can I say? The one tire that rules them all!
Thanks to Rocky Mountain Bikes, RockShox, Sram, Avid, Truvativ, WTB, and Maxxis for making this a possibility.
