Châtel Mountain Style

A great list of professional riders is announced for the 3rd Châtel Mountain Style Contest,
international downhill mountain-biking event for professionals and amateurs in freeride and
slopestyle which will take place in Châtel from 3. to 5. July 2009.

This event, unlike anywhere else, will be situated on a face, THE FACE, 300m long, 160m
vertical drop and 100m wide, reshaped by the Châtel bike patrols with Sébastien Giraldi and the
riders of Radical Films (Kranked) who will be there for the contest… The first Canadians : Steve
Romaniuk, Kurtis Sorge, Garett Buelher and James Doerfling will arrive in Châtel tomorrow to
prepare the site with special units and works on the top part of the face and on the arrival to
have more spectacle!!

A 4-person jury lead by Ben Walker of the “Scott Team” will judge the riders. This jury will
include Cédric Gracia and will be composed of :

1 technical judge

1 engagement judge

1 fluidity judge

1 tricks judge.

The riders will have to show their versatility and line choice where fluidity and control will be judged as well as tricks.  You’ll need to put it all together to hit the podium.

Site visit.
9.00am to 5.00pm: Pro/Amateurs training « The Face ».
6.00pm: Aperitif Contest presentation – village centre.

Saturday 4. July 2009:
9.00am to 1.00pm: Training.
2.00pm: Ranking run.
Partnership evening party.
7.00pm: Dirt Jam.
8.00: Kranked Revolve movie played on the giant screen.
Party at the Sloopy’s.

Sunday 5. July 2009 :
9.00am : Finals in two runs.
3.00 : Prizes.
