  Jordie Lunn proves he’s still got it!

Hot off the heels of the Jordie Lunn Jump Jam in 2008, Fresh Air made its debut on Vancouver Island. It was a gallant attempt by Jordie to “Do something different”, with a lot of help from Tyler Morland.

How the competition was to work was simple; assemble a list of “Invite Only” riders and give them two hours to ride the freshly built track. At the end each was handed a piece of paper with numbers 1 through 5 (1 being the bestest). The riders were to list their top 5 riders so the rider with the lowest number would take it all.

The riders were (listed in no particular order) Jordie Lunn, Darren Berrecloth, Brandon Semenuk, Jamie Goldman, Mitch Chubey, Nick Meyer, Justin Wyper, Danny Brodie, Mark Mathews, Eric Lawrenuk, Graham Agassiz, Ross Measures, Geoff Gulevich, Brendan Howey, Jarrett Moore, Luke Fulton, Logan Peat, and Ryder Kasprick

As the warm up runs progressed and lead into the competition, some riders continued on as others decided it wasn’t going to be their day. They stepped aside and let the leaders put on a show.

Some crazy riding was thrown down with honourable mentions to Eric Lawrenuk throwing a Decade and to Danny Brodie for unleashing a back flip off both of the last doubles.

In the end the riders spoke, with the winners coming out as follows:

  The prizing was as interesting as the competition, the winners took home one of these wonderful trophies. Man I would have been gunning for the clock!
